VietNamNet Bridge – Managers of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai football club (HAGL) said the Vietnamese American striker, Lee Nguyen, will arrive in HCM City on January 1 and one day later he will sign a three-year contract with HAGL.

Lee Nguyen will be present at a press briefing at Rex Hotel, HCM City on January 17. HAGL hasn’t revealed its pay for Nguyen, but in a recent interview, HAGL’s Chairman, Doan Nguyen Duc, mentioned the salary of US $10,000 per month.

After signing the contract, Nguyen will play in the first match against The Cong Club in his HAGL jersey on January 18, under the Cup for Champions tournament. At this event, HAGL registered Lee Nguyen as a striker number 24.

To have this contract, HAGL followed Nguyen for over two years and needed three months to negotiate with this player.

On October 15, 2008, Nguyen’s father met with HAGL’s managers to learn more about the team and the V-League tournament.

On December 9, 2008, Nguyen played for HAGL in the match against Binh Dinh and scored three goals.
