The action kicked off at the city’s Thong Nhat Stadium in the 26th minute, when midfielder Ho Van Loi opened the score for TMN-CSG from an angled shot in the right wing.

TMN-CSG, nicknamed “Port,” continued using quick counter-attack tactics with Brazilian strikers Antonio and Dourado. Striker Santos created a number of chances, but failed to get near the net.

In the second half, Port managed to rattle DTLA, nicknamed “Brick”, but the referee disallowed the goal because Port’s striker was offside. At last Dourado created a chance for Brick, with a close call that left the ball in the hands of Port goalkeeper Nguyen Hoang Duy.

Earlier in the day, Becamex Binh Duong struggled to clinch a 2-2 draw with The Cong.

The first goal came in the 25th minute, when Raphael D. De Oliveira took an exact shot to defeat Binh Duong goalkeeper Nguyen The Anh.

But only five minutes later, midfielder Phung Cong Minh passed the ball and Fabiano headed home to tie the score for V-league defending champions Becamex Binh Duong.

The first half ended with a 1-1 draw.

Only two seconds into the second half and The Cong grabbed their second goal with a header from Nguyen Quoc Long.

Not willing to lose in the first match, Becamex Binh Dupng’s coach Francesco Vital put influential players Philani and Kesley on the pitch in search of a goal.

The duo gave Binh Duong a bit of fire, putting pressure on rivals The Cong.

The score was determined in the 85th minute, when The Cong skipper Nguyen Anh Tuan made an own goal and helped Binh Duong level the score.

The tournament wraps up on Sunday.
