The tournament will help team leaders choose outstanding players for the national team that will compete in three international tournaments: the sixth world championships, the 25^th SEA Games and the 3^rd Asian Indoor Games.

At the 25^th SEA Games to be held in Laos late this year, the team will compete in four out of seven events, namely men’s singles, men’s doubles, and men and women’s doubles and team event.

Vietnam hopes to win 3-4 gold medals at the region’s biggest sporting event and the champion title at the world event. The country now has two outstanding players, Nguyen Anh Tuan from the northern province of Bac Giang and Le Minh Chieu from Ho Chi Minh City.
