In the second leg of the women’s category, Nguyen Thi Thanh An (HCM City) defeated Le Thanh Tu (Ninh Binh) to gain a draw of 1-1 in the standard chess content.

In two rapid chess matches, the two top female chess players of Vietnam still ended in a draw. They had to play the fifth match under the “sudden death” rule. Finally, Tu was the winner and won the gold medal.

In the men’s category, Bui Vinh (Hanoi) continued trounced Dao Thien Hai (Dong Thap) in two matches to bring the gold medal for the host team Hanoi.

Hoang Canh Huan (Da Nang) won the third prize for men’s category while Dang Bich Ngoc (Ninh Binh) took the third prize for women’s category.
