LookAtVietnam – Underdogs Dat Lanh surprised spectators at Phu Tho Stadium when it overcame V-Sport HCM City Police Newspaper 3-2 last night.

V-Sport, which had high hopes of taking the trophy with ease after beating Hoang Thu Da Nang in their last match, took on dogged Dat Lanh in a match where both teams were on the offensive.

In a quick counter-attack, Hoang Hai Son dribbled the ball through two V-Sport players before taking a strong shot to beat V-Sport’s goalkeeper Ly Thanh Tung in the 6th minute and put Dat Lanh in the lead 1-0.

After ceding the goal, V-Sport put more pressure on Dat Lanh and in the 16th minute Nguyen Quoc Bao took a low long-range shot to close the first half at 1-1.

The two teams kept the tempo up during the second half, launching numerous attacks.

Pham Van Tiep helped V-Sport take the lead in the 28th minute before Son scored his second goal to tie the score four minutes later.

However, Pham Phi Hung’s last minute goal helped Dat Lanh notch up a 3-2 win.

In other matches, Hoang Thu Da Nang lost to Sanna Khanh Hoa 4-5 and Pham Gia Auto hammered Tan Phong Gia Lai 11-5.

The tournament is more and more exciting as all seven teams are still within sight of the title.

Today’s four matches, which start at 2 pm, are: Hoang Thu Da Nang vs Tan Phong Gia Lai, Sanna Khanh Hoa vs Dat Lanh, Pham Gia Auto vs Thai Son Bac and the most eagerly awaited match between Thai Son Nam and V. Sports, in which the winning team will get a leg up to taking the title.

After sixth day of competition the results are: Thai Son Nam (10 pts), V.Sports (9 pts), Hoang Thu Da Nang (9 pts) Thai Son Bac (7 pts), Dat Lanh (8 pts), Maseco (6 pts), Sanna Khanh Hoa (7 pts), Pham Gia Auto (4 pts) and Tan Phong Gia Lai (0 pts).
