National Volleyball Tournament 2009 to kick-off

The Vietnam Volleyball Federation on Monday released the draw chart for the National Volleyball Tournament 2009, which will include the participation of 12 male teams and 12 female teams.

Accordingly, the teams will be divided into two groups to compete for the Hung Vuong Cup and the Misaka Cup.

Matches to compete for the Hung Vuong Cup will take place between March 21st and April 5th, matches to compete for the Misaka Cup will take places between July 11th and 26th.

The VVF said that this national tournament will help the Federation to select the best players for the National Teams which will play in the 25th SEA Games in Laos later this year.

VFF also announced that it was setting the goal for the Vietnamese male and female National Team to bring home silver medals from the 25th SEA Games.

Also on February 21st, the VFF signed a television distribution rights contract with VTC, giving the digital TV channel the sole right to broadcast all the matches from the national volleyball tournament.
