Leaving Song Lam Nghe An club, midfielder Nguyen Minh Duc, a member of the national squad, went to The Cong club. Recently, he was named on the list of players of Hai Phong club. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has to arbitrate this case.

Midfielder Minh Duc.

After Minh Duc’s contract with Song Lam Nghe An expired on December 31, 2008, this club offered a new 3-year contract with a VND2 billion ($117,600) bonus and monthly pay of VND20 million ($1,176). But the midfielder went to The Cong club, which offered him a VND3.5 billion ($205,800) bonus and monthly pay of VND25 million ($1,470). His name was registered with VFF as a member of The Cong.

However, Hai Phong club, which failed to buy Cong Vinh, Thanh Luong and Xuan Hop, stepped forward and stated that Minh Duc had belonged to them since September 2008. Their evidence is a memorandum of understanding that they signed with Minh Duc last September.

Hai Phong and The Cong have asked the VFF to work as the arbitrator. The three sides met in Hanoi on Tuesday. According to VFF, both clubs showed sufficient evidence to prove that Minh Duc is their player.

Today, February 4, the federation will finalise the list of football players who will participate in football events in 2009 and release its decision about Minh Duc.
