The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) general secretary, Tran Quoc Tuan, and vice chairman in charge of technical missions, Duong Vu Lam, are attending a meeting to review the AFF Suzuki Cup 2008 operations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from February 14-16.

The choice of the host country for the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup will be discussed at the event. General Secretary Tuan said the application to host the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 has been put on VFF’s working agenda.

Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore took turns hosting the AFF Suzuki Cup on previous occasions. Now the opportunity to host it in 2010 is open for Vietnam and Malaysia. Both Vietnam and Malaysia organised this football event in 2004.

However, it is possible that the Asean Football Federation (AFF) won’t make a decision in the next working session.

On February 16, the National Football Team and U23 Vietnam team, coach Henrique Calisto will return to Hanoi after a half month of vacation. Three days later, Mr. Calisto will begin to work with VFF’s technical section to finalise the 2009 programme for the national team.
