Khanh Thi will go to HCM City to seek new opportunities in early March while Chi Anh will stay in Hanoi to pursue professional dancing.

The top dance team of Vietnam, Khanh Thi – Chi Anh now has only one thing in common, the name of a professional dance club – Chianhkhanhthi.

Khanh Thi – Chi Anh has been known for nearly ten years as the founders of professional dancing in Vietnam. They are also the leading professional dance team in Vietnam.

They stated many times that they would be together in professional dance but they suddenly announced to break up.

“I’m going to go to HCM City to seen a new job. I very regret for this separation because I’m at the top and I’ve devoted my love and passion to dance. But I couldn’t do it in a different way. Actually, when we are out of sentiments with each others, contradictions at work is unavoidable. But who knows! Other cooperation may be better!” Khanh Thi said.

She said she plans to open a professional dance club in HCM City, which will be named chianhkhanhthi also. Khanh Thi also said to seek a new partner to participate in Asian Indoor Games this year’s end.

However, she confirmed to not dance anymore after this competition to become a dance trainer. She will also try as a Latin music singer or play in a movie.

Meanwhile, Chi Anh will stay in Hanoi to manage Chianhkhanhthi dance club at 7 Hai Ba Trung. He has had a new partner. This pair will join the National Dance Championship and then the Asian Indoor Games. He said it is normal to change partners in professional dancing.

“For the past two years, since we said goodbye in love, we still defined to devote ourselves to professional dancing. But it is time to change because we are no longer congenial. Though we will not dance together but we can cooperate in dance projects. With new partners, we can still hope to gain new success for Vietnamese professional dancing,” Chi Anh said.

Chi Anh and Khanh Thi met for the first time in 1999. They began practicing dance together in 2000. They decided to become professional dancers at the time when professional dancing was very strange in Vietnam.

In 2002, they came to France to study dance. Since then, they attended many professional dance courses and contests in the world. In 2005, the Sports and Physical Training Committee started investing in this part after they won some international prizes and sent them to the 23^rd and 24^th SEA Games.

Within ten years together, Chi Anh – Khanh Thi won the championship of all three national dance competitions, entered the top ten of the Asian Dance Championship and top 200 of over 3,000 professional dance pairs of the International Dance Federation (IDFS), and ranked the 4^th at the 24^th SEA Games. They also owned many other prizes at home and abroad. They are also the national master of professional dance.
