VietNamNet Bridge – A new contract between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Chinese coach Chen Yun Fat has not been signed yet. The coach is asking for a higher salary.

Chen Yun Fat returned to Hanoi on February 10 and met with VFF representatives on February 12 to finalise the operation plan of the national women’s football team in 2009.

According to this plan, the team has two major events this year: the qualifier round of Asian Cup 2010 (July 4-8) in Vietnam and the 25th SEA Games (December 10-20) in Laos.

Notably, Chen Yun Fat’s contract expired on February 15, but a new contract has not been signed yet.

The Chinese coach is asking for a higher salary and VFF is still considering the request.

Chen Yun Fat’s before-tax salary was $3,300/month. However, the coach has to pay personal income tax of 30%. He has asked to have before-tax pay of $4,500/month.

VFF affirms that negotiations are going smoothly. As the coach was willing to discuss the schedule for the women’s team while his new contract was still being negotiated, VFF has a great deal of hope he will stay on as coach.
