Da Nang continues to lead the topflight V-League after a 2-1 away win over Dong Tam Long An Sunday.

The home fans at Long An Stadium were silenced when Da Nang made it 2-1 six minutes from time but Dong Tam Long An (DTLA) could only blame themselves for carelessly wasting several golden opportunities.

The home team conceded the first goal just four minutes into the match after aloof goalie Phan Van Santos let in an easy shot.

The 2005-2006 champions hit back with an equalizer a few minutes later. They may very well have been on their way to a home win had Carlos Antonio netted a penalty kick at the beginning of the second half. But the loss instead pushed DTLA from 6th to 8th place.

The league’s 7th round table saw several changes with Khatoco Khanh Hoa moving into second place from fourth after an away victory over Nam Dinh at Thien Truong Stadium in which midfielder Le Tan Tai’s first half goal was the sole point in the match. The results pushed Nam Dinh, who were in second place last week, five places down.

Fourth Military Zone climbed two places to third with a 2-1 home win over Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL), pushing the 2003-2004 champions from third to sixth place.

Elsewhere in the Mekong Delta, Dong Thap earned another three points with a 3-1 home win at Cao Lanh Stadium over T&T Hanoi. With their third wins so far, underdogs Dong Thap climbed into fifth place from the ninth spot while T&T Hanoi remained in tenth place.

Another Hanoi-based club, The Cong, defeated Ho Chi Minh City Club 3-1 at Hanoi’s Hang Day Stadium. The win pushed the northern side up three places into fourth while the southern club dropped two places to thirteenth, just above bottom feeders Thanh Hoa.
