Olympiakos will fix its schedule in Hanoi next week.

The famous football team of Greece, Olympiakos, will have a friendly match against the national football squad in early May.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) hopes that it will get profit from this event because it will not have to pay Olympiakos any fee. The tour to Vietnam by Olympiakos is part of a cooperation programme between Vietnam and Greece.

According to an announcement from the Greek team, they will be in Hanoi from May 5-15. VFF confirmed that the friendly match would take place during this time.

Efforts to bring this team to Vietnam started in mid 2008. According to the initial plan, the friendly match was to be held on May 21, 2009. Calisto was not satisfied with this schedule because the team would gather on May 19, just days before the match.

However, in the latest meeting between VFF and coach Calisto, the two sides agreed that the team would convene on May 4 or 5. VFF will have to change the schedule of V-League and the First Division to serve this new plan.

VFF will not only not have to pay Olympiakos an appearance fee, it will also have the right to sell advertising and broadcasting rights of the match. The most expensive ticket for the match is expected to be around VND200,000. Olympiakos will fix its schedule in Hanoi next week.

Besides the visit of Olympiakos, VFF is seeking a foreign national team to organise a friendly match with the Vietnamese national team.
