Thanks to a team of experienced members, the team took both women’s gold medals for women’s doubles (Nguyen Thi Thu Ba and Nguyen Duc Thu Hien) and women’s team.

HCM City was disappointed at the tournament, earning only two silver medals. The southern province of Soc Trang won gold medal in men’s team for the first time while Thanh Hoa received the gold medal in men’s doubles.

This is the first tournament for Sepak Takraw players before they participate in international events: the 1st Asian Sepak Takraw Championship in Singapore, the World Sports Games in Taiwan, the World Sepak Takraw Championship – the King’s Cup in Thailand, the 3rd Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam and the 25th SEA Games in Laos.
