In this tournament, Minh is seeded 4th after the world No1 and 2004 Athens Olympic Champion Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia, the world No7 Hydayat Taufik from Indonesia and from the host country, the world No14 player Anand Chetan. By being seeded 4th, Nguyen Tien Minh will avoid his powerful rivals during the qualifying round. The India Grand Prix ‘09 will be held in Hyderabat, India, from March 24-29.
