Electronic sports will be part of the 3rd Asian Indoor Games to be held in Vietnam this October.

The Vietnam Electronic Sports and Recreational Sports Association (VESRA) will hold its founding congress on March 17, 2009. To prepare for the games, the association will launch contests to choose the best players for the national e-sports team.

Training courses for volunteers will start in April.

The Binh Duong cycling tournament will take place from March 22 to 29 in southern Vietnam, sponsored by Number One.

The contest will attract 12 strong cycling clubs from Vietnam and teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia and the Netherlands.

Ocean Bank Cup businessmen’s shooting contest opens

After a delay of three months to repair equipment damaged in the historic flood last November in Hanoi, the first businessmen’s shooting competition, Ocean Bank Cup, was kicked off at the National Sports Training Centre in Hanoi on March 14.

The event saw the participation of 60 competitors competing in three categories: trap shooting, skeet shooting and 25m fixed saucer shooting with sports short guns.

Apart from a special prize worth $18,000, the organising board will present a car to the best shooter in each category.
