The match between Chonburi and Hanoi ACB in Hanoi on April 7.

While the Binh Duong Club defeated the Thai Power Club in Thailand, Hanoi ACB was trounced by Thailand’s Chonburi on its home ground on April 7

Led by Kiatisuk, who played for Hoang Anh Gia Lai club for several years, Chonburi defeated Hanoi ACB convincingly on the Hanoi-based Hang Day Stadium.

After seven minutes of the second half, Arthit scored the first goal for the Thai club. The second goal came at the 62nd minute by Ekaphan, a member of the Thai national squad.

The third consecutive winning match helps Chonburi gain the top position of its group, under the AFC Cup 2009.

Binh Duong wins in rain

The Supachalasai Stadium in Thailand was soaking wet yesterday, in the match between the Thai Power against Binh Duong. Because of rain, Vietnamese and Thai players couldn’t show their talent off. However, Binh Duong had two of its three goals partly thanks to rain.

The first goal for Binh Duong was made by Philani, at the 21st minute. The second goal came at the 35th minute by Hoang Vuong, and the third was scored by Kesley at the last minute of the match.

The Thai team also had a goal at the early of the second half by Supakit.

In the H group, Home United defeated Valencia for 0-1 on the same day.

- On April 6, the Vietnam Football Federation said that Greek’s Olympiacos football club confirmed that it will arrive in Vietnam on May 12 and the friendly match against the Vietnamese national squad will take place at 5:00pm, May 14 at the My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi.

However, according an anonymous source from the representative company for Olympiacos and the Manchester United clubs in Vietnam, the day of arrival of the Greece team will be defined on April 8.
