The Vietnam Challenger Hanoi Badminton Tournament will take place at Hanoi-based Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium from April 21-26.

Nguyen Tien Minh

Nearly 100 players from 13 countries and territories, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, the UK, Belgium, Algeria, Cambodia, Philippines, have registered to join the event.

The number of participants will increase because the organising board will not close the list of players until April 6. It is highly possible that Vietnam’s top male player Nguyen Tien Minh (world’s 19th) will be the second seed of the tournament. Smih Andrew (world’s 15th) will be the top seed.

Before attending Challenger Hanoi, Nguyen Tien Minh and eight members of the national badminton team will take part in the Asian Badminton Championship from April 7-12 in Suwon, South Korea.
