Football coach visits German clubs

At the invitation of the Deutsche Football Association (DFB), the chief coach of the U23 national squad, Mai Duc Chung, visited some German football clubs from April 14-19.

On April 14, Chung called on the Hertha BSC Berlin club, where he met with the club’s managing director Bernd Wusterhausen. Chung invited Bernd Wusterhausen to visit Vietnam, which has millions of fans of German football.

Chung expressed the hope that the young Vietnamese football teams, especially women’s teams, would have opportunities to train in Germany.

Bernd Wusterhausen accepted Chung’s invitation and promised to provide Chung with documents on football and help organise courses for Vietnamese football teams.

On the same day, Chung watched Hertha BSC Berlin and some other football teams practice at the stadium of Hertha BSC club. He had a talk with the chief coach of Hertha BSC II, Karsten Heine, who is also the coach of the German young and U23 squads.

On the following days, Chung met with other football officials, including Gerd Liesegang from the DFB’s International Committee, Horst Blaesig, chief editor of German Football magazine.

Chung also paid a visit to Bayer Munich and other clubs in south Germany.
