Goalkeeper Duong Hong Son and the Golden Ball Awards.

The Vietnam Football Federation has asked the organizing board of the Golden Ball Awards 2008 to reconsider its grant of the award to Duong Hong Son.

Because of this scandal, the goalkeeper was suspended for two matches and fined VND 10 million (US $580). Three related players, namely Xuan Tu, Ngoc Quan, and Dai Dong, had to pay fines of VND 1 million each.

Though he was punished by his club, T&T Hanoi, Duong Hong Son is facing further penalties from the VFF.

The VFF has recently announced an agreement with Ninh Binh club’s punishment on Sy Manh, by giving a warning and a fine of VND 2 million and T&T Hanoi on Duong Hong Son. However, the VFF imposed two more matches of suspension on Sy Manh.

The federation told the organizing board of the Golden Ball Awards 2008 to reconsider its grant of the award to Duong Hong Son. The organizers didn’t have any feedback about VFF’s request yet.

About the scandal related to Khanh Hoa Club’s Tan Tai. VFF is waiting for reports from related sides to make decisions.

The federation asked Hanoi ACB Club to pay a VND 20 million fine and to play the next match without its fans as punishment for the case occurred at Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi last week. In the match between Hanoi ACB and The Cong, Hanoi ACB’s fans threw a burnt dog head on to the playground.
