LookAtVietnam – The Vietnam Football Federation’s Discipline Division decided to mitigate the suspension on Nam Dinh Football Club half-back Hoang Danh Ngoc.

Previously, the Discipline Division announced it was suspending Danh Ngoc for six matches and imposing a VND10 million fine on the half-back to punish him for rude behaviour towards fans of The Cong Club during the match between Nam Dinh and The Cong on March 15, 2009.

According to the Discipline Division’s new decision, Danh Ngoc will be suspended for four matches. The half-back, thus, can play in the match between Nam Dinh and Da Nang at Nam Dinh-based Thien Truong Stadium on April 26. However, he still has to pay a fine of VND10 million ($560).

“Danh Ngoc asked for commutation and in his petition, he expresses sincere regret for his mistake. Nam Dinh Club also confirmed that since the punishment was handed down, Danh Ngoc has practiced hard. He admitted his mistake and is willing to change so we mitigated the suspension penalty to help him return to football earlier,” said the VFF Discipline Division’s chief Nguyen Hai Huong.

Nam Dinh Club’s Chairman Nguyen Hung Thai and Danh Ngoc were very happy with the new decision.

“I feel regret about my mistake and I thank the Discipline Division and officials of VFF for giving me a chance. I promise to never repeat that mistake and I will try to play football my best,” Danh Ngoc said.

Danh Ngoc is considered a young football talent of Nam Dinh. Last year, Danh Ngoc and his twin brother Hoang Nhat Nam were called up to the U22 national team. They played well in the Merdeka Cup 2008 and helped the U22 team win the cup.
