Sixty-four six-man teams have been selected to compete in the most rewarding football tournament Vietnam has ever seen — the ‘Bud 6v6 International Cup’.

This is an event that gives 18-and-over nationals the chance to win a trip to England and play on the same turf as Manchester United.

Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and local organizing committees in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) organized the draw on April 16^th at a celebrity-filled Saigon Opera House, HCMC.

The sides will now take to the pitch for qualifying rounds — April 18-19 in Hanoi at Thuy Loi Field and April 25-26 in Ho Chi Minh City at Thanh Long Field.

“Football is king in Vietnam. It’s everyone’s dream here is to play at Old Trafford on the hallowed stomping grounds of Manchester United,” said Walter Blocker, CEO of Gannon, authorized distributor of Budweiser in Vietnam. “Budweiser, the official sponsor of ManU, is the only brew sold at that historic venue. Now the ‘King of Beers’ brings Vietnam’s best to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.”

The VFF, Vietnam Football Development JSC (VFD) and Budweiser launched their search to find the finest six-player footballing squads in Vietnam on March 25. Through online enrollment at www.budweiser.com.vn, more than 500 teams submitted entries.

Of the 64 chosen sides, the top four — two from Hanoi and two from Ho Chi Minh City — advance to the semifinal and final matches on April 30 at the National Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, with the winning team earning a trip to England.
