Top-placed Ninh Binh proved its dominance over Binh Dinh with an easy 2-0 victory over the visitors at Ninh Binh Stadium in the second-flight First Division’s 10th round Saturday.

The win kept the northern club firmly at the top and pushed the central club down one place to third while Huda Hue city, who was in third place last week, moved into second with a home win at Tu Do Stadium over visiting Tien Giang, also by a brace, pushing the Mekong Delta club one place down to 1 1th.

Hoa Phat Hanoi also defeated visitors Can Tho 2-0 at the Hang Day Stadium. Goals by Huynh Nhat Thanh and Dinh Thanh Trung helped the team jump two places to fourth while the visitors dropped one place to 10th, only two places away from the relegation zone.

Another representative from the capital city, Hanoi ACB, meanwhile, suffered a 1-2 away loss to Tay Ninh in the southwestern region. Hanoi ACB took the lead in the 60th minute with a strike by Nguyen Xuan Thanh, but conceded two goals less than 10 minutes later. Hanoi ACB fell two places to ninth while Tay Ninh remains in fifth despite the win.

Dong Nai made a long jump to eighth from 1 1th with a 3-0 home win in the southeastern region over Quang Ngai, leaving the visitors from the central region stuck at the bottom with only five points after 10 rounds.

Saigon United fought to a 0-0 home draw at Thong Nhat Stadium with Quang Nam. The club from the southern hub climbed two places to sixth despite earning only one point, while the central club remains in the 12th position, just above the relegation zone.

An Giang defeated Quang Ninh 1-0 at home in the Mekong Delta. An Giang is still one place from the bottom despite the win while the northern club fell to seventh from fourth last week.
