Ha Noi win National Canoeing Clubs Champs; Striker Lanh to play for Viet Nam Coal and Minerals; Song Be World Cup tees off tomorrow in Binh Duong

Ha Noi won the National Canoeing Clubs Championship at West Lake in Ha Noi with 17 golds, nine silvers and four bronze medals.

Second was to Hai Phong, who won four golds and two silvers, while third was Thai Nguyen with four golds and two bronze.

The two-day event, which ended on Tuesday, attracted 110 athletes from 15 cities and provinces.

The National Rowing and Canoeing Championship is scheduled for either Ha Noi or the central coastal city of Da Nang from October 5-15.

Striker Lanh to play for Viet Nam Coal and Minerals

Vu Thi Lanh (photo) has officially signed with Viet Nam Coal and Minerals in time to compete in the second leg of National Women’s Football Championships, the team has announced.

Lanh has been playing for Ha Nam since 1999, where together with Van Thi Thanh and Nguyen Thi Huong she was a formidable force up front.

She took part in her first training session with Viet Nam Coal and Minerals on Thursday.

Song Be World Cup tees off tomorrow in Binh Duong

The Song Be Golf World Cup 2009 will begin at Song Be Golf Resort in the southern province of Binh Duong tomorrow.

Some 160 golfers from 10 countries and territories – including Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, France, America, Indonesia and Viet Nam – are expected to be teeing off.

Golfers who score a hole-in-one will win family memberships.
