Cyclist Khangarid Naran of Mongolia won the eighth stage of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup Wednesday while Do Tuan Anh of Dong Thap looks to take the blue jersey.

Naran completed the 98km distance from Da Lat to Bao Loc in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong in two hours, 22 minutes and 44 seconds, at an average speed of 41.195kph, ahead of compatriot Tumurbaatar and Jay Gyung Gu of the Seoul team in second and third.

Anh of Dong Thap was not among the top three, but he made a great effort to secure all 10 points necessary for the blue jersey and raised his total jersey points to 54.

He now has 26 points more than second-placed Park Seon Ho and will win the blue jersey if he completes the final stage today from Bao Loc to HCMC.

It is the only title a Vietnamese cyclist can secure at this point as the yellow and red jerseys, as well as the team category titles, are almost certain to be won by the Seoul squad.

Seoul is now in the lead in the team category with a total time of 56 hours, 58 minutes and two seconds, 10 minutes and 31 seconds faster than the Saigon 1 team in second place.
