Portuguese coach F. Vital.

The club’s chief Tran Van Duong said that Vital would be assigned a new job. Under a two-year contract with Binh Duong, Vital is both the chief coach of the major team and training assistant of the young team.

Binh Duong also appointed two players, Tran Truong Giang and Truong Van Hai, as assistants to new coach Nguyen Minh Dung.

Replacing coach Le Thuy Hai, Vital had a good start, a 3-0 victory against Nam Dinh. However, he experienced a black period in the following month when Binh Duong was defeated by Dong Thap, The Cong and the Military Zone 4. Binh Duong currently ranks seventh in its group, with 10 points (three wins, four draws, and three losses).

Vital is the third foreign coach to lose his position in the first phase of V-League 2009. The two others were Thai coach Dusit Chanlermsan of Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Austrian coach Alfred Riedl of Hai Phong. They lost their posts due to their teams’ poor performances.

In his first match as coach of Binh Duong, Nguyen Minh Dung led his club to a victory (3-1) over Thanh Hoa on May 1.

Tomorrow, Binh Duong will face Home United in the fifth round of Group H, AFC Cup 2009.
