Striker Gaston opened the score for host Da Nang in the 14th minute thanks to a pass by Almeida from a penalty kick in the left wing.

After the break, SLNA focused on attacking in the right wing and their chance came in the 75th minute, and taking full advantage of the goalkeeper’s weakness, Nhu Thuat levelled the score.

At Long An Stadium, football fans saw a match between former champions Dong Tam Long An and Hai Phong Cement.

It was the first match of the season, and Long An played impetuously and gained an early lead when they scored two goals within five minutes thanks to Antonio’s merits at the second and fifth minutes.

At the 27th minute, visitors Hai Phong narrowed the two-goal gap with a goal by Ngoc Thanh.

At the 59th minute, defender Tuan Diep of the hosts couldn’t impede another of Antonio’s shots, and the kicker scored again.

But Antonio didn’t stop with his three goals. With the enthusiastic aid of Viet Thang, Antonio scored a fourth goal in the 65th minute of the match.

Elsewhere in round 11 of V-League play yesterday, Military Zone 4 beat The Cong 3-0 at Military Zone 4 Stadium, two-time champion Hoang Anh Gia Lai beat Nam Dinh 5-1 at Thien Truong Stadium and Dong Thap beat HCM City 1-0 at Cao Lanh Stadium.

The round also saw Khanh Hoa defeat T&T Ha Noi 3-2 at Hang Day Stadium.

In an early match of round 11 of the V-League last Saturday, defending champions Binh Duong crushed Thanh Hoa 3-1 at their home stadium.

Binh Duong’s three goals were scored by Helio in the 21st minute, Nguyen Vu Phong in the 60th minute and Nguyen Anh Duc in the 64th minute. Rogelio earned a consolation goal for the guests in the last minute of the match.

The win has helped Binh Duong gain more confidence before taking on Singapore’s Home United at the AFC Cup 2009 tomorrow.
