Dang Dinh Tien of Ho Chi Minh City became the one-cushion carom billiards champion of Vietnam Friday by beating his rival 100-76 in the final of the National Billiards and Snooker Championships 2009.

In the play-off for third place in the one-cushion carom category, Truong Van Anh defeated HCMC teammate Ma Van Cam 100-74.

In the English billiards category, Nguyen Trung Kien of Hanoi beat Nguyen Thanh Binh of Da Nang 3-1 while Nguyen Thanh Long, also of Da Nang, came third by defeating Pham Hoai Nam of Hanoi 2-1.

The HCMC team topped the medal tally with four gold, two silver and two bronze medals, Hanoi came in second with three gold, one silver and three bronze medals, and Da Nang third with one silver and one bronze.
