The best coach Le Huynh Duc.

VietNamNet Bridge The first leg of V-League 2009 witnessed the convincible rise of SHB. Da Nang to the top, five points ahead of the second-place team. Here is the best from the first round of V-League 2009.

The most impressive team: SHB. Da Nang

The team tops the tournament, showing their excellent playing style and good use of players. Da Nang had ten wins, three draws and only two losing matches in the first round of V-League.

The biggest surprise: Military Zone 4

This squad ranks third with 21 points, surprising both fans and experts. The team started V-League 2009 with two losing matches against Song Lam Nghe An and Dong Tam Long An.

The most disappointing team: T&T Hanoi

Paying billions of dong to hire football stars and making noisy statements, the team is at the bottom of the ranking. It owns the best goalkeeper of Vietnam in 2008 (Duong Hong Son) and the number-one striker of Vietnam at present (Cong Vinh) but T&T Hanoi was scored against more than any other team.

The best coach: Le Huynh Duc

Holding two of the three monthly titles for Best Coach, SHB. Da Nang’s Le Huynh Duc is recognised as a young talented coach of Vietnam. Thanks to the presence of Huynh Duc, SHB. Da Nang currently has nine national footballers, compared to four in the past.

The most impressive local player

It is difficult to choose the most impressive footballer but the best nominees for this title are halfback Minh Duc (Cement Hai Phong), Cong Vinh (T&T Hanoi), Hai Lam (SHB. Da Nang) and Tan Truong (Dong Thap).

The most disappointing local player

As a member of the Southeast Asian championship team, the winner of Golden Ball 2008 award, goalkeeper Duong Hong Son (T&T Hanoi) has disappointed fans in both his career and personal image. He was involved in a fighting scandal and hasn’t helped his team move upwards.

Another case is Vu Nhu Thanh, the holder of the Silver Ball Award 2008. Thanh has been a reserve for Binh Duong club. He got a red card in the match versus T&T Hanoi.

The most impressive foreign player: Lazaro

Military Zone 4’s Lazaro scored 12 goals in 13 matches, taking the lead in the number of goals in V-League 2009. He also assisted on three other goals out of the total of 19 goals of the team.

The most disappointing foreign player: Martin Trindade

As an outstanding scorer last football season and a big hope of V-League 2009, Martin Trindade didn’t have a single goal after moving to Cement Hai Phong. He suffered from injuries and had to say goodbye to Hai Phong early in the season.
