Vietnam will hold the 2009 ASEAN+ Age-Group Chess Championships in the central province of Thua Thien Hue city from June 6-15.

Players will compete in several age groups, from children under 10 to adults over 50.

Deputy Prime Minister, Nguyen Thien Nhan, has approved the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism‘s proposal to host the Championships.

He said the Ministry should work with the provincial people’s committee to make throughout preparations for this event.
