LookAtVietnam – V-League strugglers are taking advantage of the mid-season break to reorganise in the hope of putting up a better show in the latter half of the season.

T&T Ha Noi, languishing at the bottom with just 12 points from 13 rounds and one of the most disappointing teams this year, has signed Brazilian striker Agoshtinho – Hoang Anh Gia Lai discard – and midfielder Cassiano, which it had sacked last year after he helped the club climb into the V-League.

It is also testing a qualified striker Brazilian and may sign a deal this week.

Trieu Quang Ha, head coach of the team, said the foreign players in his team had played poorly since the beginning of the season.

Another bottom team, HCM City Football Club, is on equal points with T&T Ha Noi with a match in hand.

Head coach Lu Dinh Tuan said its foreign players had not played well either and the team depended largely on inexperienced local players.

The club released Vicente Matias Gabriel, Marcio J.D Reis and Salatiel S.D Menzes and has taken on board some new players.

“We are trying to find qualified foreign players to help the club improve its position in the rankings or at least make sure it remains in the V-League,” he said.

But to find good players within two weeks is not easy, while coaches do not have the time to test player’s ability.

“We are testing 12 players and if there are more good ones, we will recruit from them,” Tuan said.

Other relegation candidates include Thanh Hoa, The Cong and Nam Dinh, who are just a point or two above the bottom pair.

The two bottom-placed teams face relegation to the First Division while the third-last team will play off with the third-placed team in the First Division for a place in the V-League.
