Six members of Hoang Anh Gia Lai football club, including four players, were hospitalised on June 9, one day before a match against HCM City, for respiratory inflammation caused by ultra-virus. The whole team had to move out of its headquarters in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province.

Half-back Ho Van Thuan, one of the four players in hospital.

According to the team’s coaching board, the four players Ngoc Nguyen, Van Thuan, Dinh Viet, Cesar, coach assistant Tran Quoc Tuan and doctor Dong Xuan Lam are being isolated for treatment at the Gia Lai province Polyclinic. Doctors said that they are suffering from respiratory inflammation caused by ultra-virus.

In this situation, the whole team was urgently moved from their headquarters, the Ham Rong Sports Centre, to Hoang Anh Gia Lai Pleiku Hotel, also in Pleiku city. Health workers sprayed chemicals to decontaminate the Ham Rong Sports Centre, which is still hosting young players of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Arsenal JMG Football Institute.

Besides the above six members, the two coaching assistants Huynh Van Anh and Dusit and half-back Sakda also have the flu. However, they were able to practice with the team on June 10.

The development will put Hoang Anh Gia Lai at a disadvantage in its coming match against HCM City.

According to the coaching board, these individuals probably caught the flu during their trip from Gia Lai to Dong Thap last weekend.
