Vietnam to benefit from FIFA’s Goal project

The office of FIFA’s Goal project has announced that Vietnam continues to be on the list of FIFA members that will take part in the third phase of the project.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will be assisted by the International Football Federation to build a lighting system for the football field at the National Training Centre for Young Players, buy a 45-seater bus for the national squad, and purchase equipment for training players and maintaining the field.

The Goal project was established on the initiative of FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatterand, was approved at a FIFA meeting in Los Angeles in 1999. It aims to build or upgrade the head offices of football federations, training centres and facilities at both local and national levels.

During first phase, FIFA helped the VFF build its current headquarters at 18 Ly Van Phuc, Hanoi. In the second phase, the VFF was provided with US$400,000 to develop its football infrastructure.
