Thanh Nien Managing Deputy Editor-in-chief Dang Thanh Tinh said Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was helping to organize the U.21 (Under-21) National Tournament while also working with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to invite international teams, referees and supervisors to the U.21 International Tournament.

Six squads have so far signed onto the third U.21 International Tournament in October: China, Iran, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. The Vietnamese squad will be selected from the best players at the national tournament.

The 13th Thanh Nien National Football Tournament qualifying round will take place in August to choose the best six teams to play with defending champs Da Nang and host team Binh Duong in the finals this September.

Binh Duong Province People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Hiep said local agencies would do everything they could to make the event run “as smoothly as expected.”

He also said Binh Duong was very happy because the provincial football team had advanced to the AFC Cup quarterfinals this year and was “likely to progress further.”

The province is also preparing for the 10^th Binh Duong Television Cup anniversary in November. Hiep said the U.21 Thanh Nien national and international tournaments would be a good opportunity to show what Binh Duong is made of.
