Midfielder Huynh Quoc Anh netted the ball in the 15th minute to put Da Nang in the lead until the 84th minute when Philani scored his second goal to balance the score 2-2.

Gaston and Philani thrilled the 10,000 fans who attended the match with a riveting end.

The Argentine strike Gaston netted the ball in the 87th minute, but Philani pulled back a goal and tied the game at 3-3.

In the penalty shoot-out, goalie Tran Duc Cuong saved three spot kicks from Binh Duong to take Da Nang to the final.

Da Nang will meet Song Lam Nghe An, who beat The Cong 4-1 in the other semi-final at Ha Noi’s Hang Day Stadium yesterday, at the final on August 29.

The central city team hopes to win two titles this year - the premiership, V-League and the National Cup - for the first time in the team’s history.

In the past five years, two-time V-League champs Dong Tam Long An have twice won both the V-League and the National Cup.

The Cup, funded by Vissai Cement, drew 27 teams from the premier V-League and the First Division competing in a single-elimination format for a cash-prize of VND250,000 million (US$14,700).

The Cup winner will be eligible to take part in the Asian Football Confederation’s Cup next year.

Last year, Ha Noi ACB lifted the Cup after beating Binh Duong 1-0.
