Hai Phong and T&T Hanoi won home and away matches respectively by a solitary goal in the V-League’s 22nd round Sunday.

While Hai Phong prevailed over Ho Chi Minh City Club, T&T Hanoi beat Fourth Military Zone by the same margin.

The losers both have 23 points each, four points clear of bottom-placed Thanh Hoa.

HCMC Club sits right above the Fourth Military Zone and has a game in hand but it is not going to be very easy because it plays Hoang Anh Gia Lai, a better team this season.

The winners meanwhile have 34 points each with Hai Phong placed third and T&T in fourth place.

The league has four more rounds to go and the last two clubs are relegated to the First Division while the third-to-last team has a play-off match against third best team from the First Division for a place in the V-League.

At Lach Tray Stadium, home to Hai Phong, fans Sunday added to their notoriety for riots and violence, throwing objects from Stand B.

Assistant referee Huynh Quoc Viet was hit in his leg with a bottle of water and referee Tran Cong Trong had to replace him with table referee Vu Bao Linh.

A large force of security guards were present but they did nothing. Lach Tray Stadium is likely to face a fine from the Vietnam Football Federation.
