Five Vietnamese bodybuilders will go to Thailand in early August to take part in the Asian Bodybuilding Championships 2009.

They are Pham Van Mach (55kg), Nguyen Van Lam (60kg), Nguyen Hai Au (70kg), Nguyen Truong Giang, Ngo Quang Trung. They will go to Pattaya with two coaches, Huynh Anh and Chu Bang Vu.

Besides the five above male bodybuilders, two female artists may join the Vietnamese team.

Notably, for the first time the Asian Bodybuilding Championships 2009 will have a classical bodybuilding competition and Vietnam will participate in this new event with two artists, Nguyen Truong Giang and Ngo Quang Trung.

For this competition, the organising board has set weight categories based on a fixed height/weight ratio of bodybuilders. For example, Nguyen Truong Giang is 1.70m in height so he must have the weight of 70kg to join this competition. Similarly, Ngo Quang Trung, with the height of 1.75m, must have the weight of 75kg to join the event.

To prepare for this event, Truong Giang and Quang Trung are feverishly practicing and focusing on their regimens to reach the required weights.

The Asian Bodybuilding Championships 2009 will take place from August 2-8 in Pattaya, Thailand. Previously, the event was scheduled for Iran.
