Vietnam’s top striker joins Leixoes

Leixoes’ coach Mota used this match to choose players for the upcoming Rio Ava game in the third round of the Portuguese Football Championship.

According to Mota, Cong Vinh quickly settled into his new team. In the first drills, he skillfully completed the exercises and, in a drilling match, Cong Vinh scored two goals.

The coach, impressed by Cong Vien’s performance in practice, used him in the second half of the friendly match with Padroense.

Cong Vinh made his goal in the 88th minute. Coach Mota praised Vinh for strong movement and careful observation. Mota still has some concern about Vinh’s physical size; typical strikers at Leixoes are very tall and big.

Mota did not reveal whether Cong Vinh will have the opportunity to play against Rio Ave this weekend. The team’s major striker, Braga, is suffering injuries, however, so Cong Vinh may have a hope to demonstrate his prowess again.

At the Portuguese championship, Leixoes has one point after two matches. The next match will take place in their home stadium.
