Meanwhile, Khanh Thi and Phan Hien will face off against Chi Anh at the German Open Sports Dance Championships from August 18-23 in Germany.

Khanh Thi’s new partner, Phan Hien, 17, was a student of Chi Anh and Khanh Thi several years ago. Before joining with Khanh Thi, Phan Hien and partner My An won eight gold medals at local sports dance competitions, one gold medal at the Malaysia Open 2008, one bronze medal at the Korean Open 2008 and others.

“He is young and inexperienced at international competitions but Phan Hien has a lot of potential and enthusiasm,” Khanh Thi commented.

This pair recently won first prize in the Khanh Hoa Province Open Cup 2009. They are practicing in Germany to prepare for the upcoming international event in Germany. Besides this pair, two other Vietnamese pairs will participate in this competition, including Khanh Thi’s previous partner, Chi Anh, and his new partner Nha Khanh, in addition to Minh Duc-Van Diem.

After the competition in Germany, Khanh Thi is going to return to Vietnam on August 25 to help her students prepare for the HCM City Open Sports Dance Championship. This will be the first contest for Khanh Thi’s students since she moved from Hanoi to HCM City in mid March 2009, after her break-up with Chi Anh.

After that, Khanh Thi and Phan Hien will go to Singapore for the Singapore Open Cup in early September.
