Hoa Phat Hanoi earned itself the coveted V-League spot for next season with a 5-0 victory over An Giang in the First Division’s 24th round Saturday.

Now Can Tho, Binh Dinh and Huda Hue city with 35, 34 and 33 points respectively are in a race for the third place that will give pit the winner against the third from last team in the top flight V-League.

The winner of that encounter will get the last V-League berth for next season.

Way below in the table, Quang Nam with 21 points moved up one place to 13th after a 1-0 home win over Tien Giang and Saigon United with 18 points fell one place to bottom after a 1-0 defeat to Huda Hue.

Saigon United and Quang Nam look almost certain to be relegated to non-league play but An Giang and Tien Giang with 23 points each are also relegation-threatened.
