Bodybuilder Pham Van Mach

Bodybuilders Pham Van Mach and Nguyen Van Lam won gold medals in the men’s 55kg and 65kg categories at the Asian Bodybuilding Championship 2009 in Pattaya, Thailand Sunday.

Mach successfully defended his title while Lam, who won the bronze medal at the Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Thailand the previous day, put in a much improved performance to beat 10 other rivals.

Vietnam won a total of four gold, two silver and one bronze medals in the Asian meet; one gold and two silver medals in the Southeast Asian event and one bronze medal in the Asian Junior competition.

Vietnamese coach Huynh Anh was awarded a campaign medal by the Asian Bodybuilding Federation for making significant contributions to the sport in the continent for the past 20 years.
