One day after the crowning at the Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship, Pham Van Mach successfully defended his Asian championship on August 16th.

In the last day of the Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship 2009, Vietnamese bodybuilder Pham Van Mach passed Iran’s Khajavi Jafarabd and Hussain Alammar from the United Arab Emirates to win the gold medal for men’s 55kg category.

This is the fifth consecutive gold medal Mach has taken in the last six years.

At the men’s 70kg category, Vietnam’s Nguyen Van Lam also won his first Asian gold medal. Last year he won the gold medal for men’s 65kg category at the Asian Beach Games I in Indonesia. He also won an Asian gold medal and a world bronze medal in 2007.
