U-16 girls’ football squad to be called up for SEA championship

The Vietnam national girls’ U-16 football squad will officially be called up on August 23 in Hanoi to prepare for the up-coming Southeast Asian Championship.

The squad of 26 players will attend 40-day training session and at least three frienlies before the tournament, according to coach Tran Ngoc Thai Tuan.

The Southeast Asian Girls’ U-16 Football Championship will be held in Yangon, Myanmar from October 9-18 with the participation of eight teams.

Vietnam lies in group B with the Philippines, Laos and Myanmar B while group A comprises Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar A.

Vietnam will take on Myanmar B in their opening match on October 10, followed by two games against Laos and the Philippines on October 12 and October 14 respectively.
