Vietnam Football Federation on Friday released the list of 33 players selected for the training squad for the 25th South East Asian (SEA) Games in December.

Midfielders Cong Huy of The Cong and Nhat Nam of Nam Dinh played superbly in the U22 team coached by Mai Duc Chung but were not on the new U23 list.

Coach of the national and U23 teams Henrique Calisto said in the midfield he has Thanh Hung, Quy Suu, Trong Hoang and Thai Duong, so he doesn’t need more.

The U23s training squad will meet for the first time next Friday. Calisto said the list is still open and after a month he may switch about 10 of them for some outstanding players discovered at the Thanh Nien-sponsored U21 National Football Tournament final.

The Portuguese tactician said, “The players must practice, practice and practice to make a strong team. Our goal is always the same. That is to win at the 25^th SEA Games.”
