Viet Nam played on attack with spikers Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, Bui Thi Hue city, Dinh Thi Dieu Chau and libero Ta Dieu Linh dominating their opponents, 25-16, 25-14, 25-10.

Binh Dien Long An cruised to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-16) win over Australia yesterday, August 16.

On Saturday, Binh Dien Long An also beat Thailand’s Phuket 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 28-26, 25-23).

China’s Guangdong won over Technokom of Ukraine 3-2 after losing the first two sets.

The annual VTV Cup, which debuted in 2004, has six participants this year.

The four top teams of the round-robin contest will contest the semi-finals with the finals take place at Dac Lac Gymnasium on Saturday. The winners get US$5,000 and the runners-up $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.

In 2007, Viet Nam defeated US team St John University to take the title.
