LookAtVietnam – The 2009 National Individual Badminton Championship will officially kick off at Thai Binh province’s Gymnasium from September 12-19.

The tournament attracts 135 players from 17 teams of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, the Military team, the Public Security and especially with the participation of Vietnamese top player Nguyen Tien Minh who is currently standing ninth in the world rankings.

The individual event for women will promise to bring the audiences many exciting games joined by outstanding faces such as Binh Tho, Phung Nguyen Phuong Nhi, Hong Gam, Pham Thi Trang and Nguyen Nhung.

The athletes will compete in the individual, doubles and mixed doubles events for men and women.

The tournament offers a total prize money of US$ 6000.
