Chief coach Henrique Calisto was satisfied with the training trip to Kunming, China. He has chosen key players for the SEA Games 2009 in December.

U23 Vietnam squad is practicing at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.

The U23 Vietnam team has just returned to Hanoi and began practicing at the My Dinh National Stadium. Calisto made positive comments about the Chinese trip, saying: “Everything was okay. The weather, the training conditions, the attitude of players. It all took place as I planned. There are no serious problem with the fitness of the players and I’m pleased with them.

“It is not easy to choose the best from 32 players. However, I now have a good understanding of the capability of each player. This mean I am now in a positon to pick the team - although I will not disclose the names now.”

It seems Calisto is keen on a two striker formation with Thanh Binh and Tang Tuan as the top choices. Goalkeeper Tan Truong, midfielders Xuan Hop and Minh Duc, fullback Van Duyet and Van Hoc and centre halfs Trong Hoang, Thanh Luong, Anh Tuan and Quy Suu also look to be favourites with the manager.

With the U23 squad ducking out of the warm up pre-SEA Games tournament in Laos, Calisto says he will instead seek suitable teams from the V-League for friendly matches.
