The international suspension on four of seven national players involved in a match-fixing scandal at the South East Asian Games in 2005 has been lifted by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Bat Hieu, Phuoc Vinh, Hai Lam, Quoc Anh, Van Quyen, Van Truong and Quoc Vuong were found guilty of fixing the result of a match between Vietnam and Myanmar at the 23rd SEA Games in the Philippines so that the former could win by a one-goal margin.

Bat Hieu, Phuoc Vinh, Hai Lam and Quoc Anh, who have been allowed to play locally since the second half of V-League 2008, can compete in international contests beginning Thursday.

FIFA made the decision following an earlier request by Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) after seeing the players show efforts to improve themselves and make big contributions to their clubs.

Captain Phuoc Vinh alongside Hai Lam and Quoc Anh played exceptionally to help Da Nang take the 2009 V-League and national cup titles while Bat Hieu played a key defending role for Hai Phong.

These prominent players may be good choices to consider for the national team coach Henrique Calisto.

The other three players have been allowed by VFF to play for their clubs in the 2009 V-League season but their international ban has not been lifted.
