Cristiano Ronaldo could well visit Vietnam now that British Petroleum has signed up the Portuguese football international and Real Madrid winger as a global brand ambassador.

Ronaldo, who sealed the two-year deal with BP in May, has agreed to meet fans in person in his new capacity as roving ambassador, according to Thuc.

Castrol Vietnam will launch a sales promotion early next year with prizes that include traveling to Spain to watch Ronaldo play for Real Madrid, Thuc said.

It will be just like the promotion last year that rewarded two lucky fans with tickets to Euro 2008, Thuc said.

If Ronaldo does visit Vietnam, he will be following in the footsteps of former Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham.

The English international was brought here by BP in June 2003, much to the delight of Vietnam’s countless football fans.
