Chess masters to play in China; Vietnamese striker matches aired live; Women spiked in Volleyball Champs

Vietnamese chess masters will take part in the Zhejiang Lishui Open that will start on Thursday in China.

The Viet Nam national team will travel to the venue with strong players including Le Quang Liem, who just triumphed at the Kolkata Open, and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Kuala Lumpur Open champion.

The tournament will be organised in 11 rounds for both men and women. It will conclude on Saturday. Organisers said many of the world’s top players have registered to take part in the event.

Vietnamese striker matches aired live

All of Leixoes’ matches, who Vietnamese striker Le Cong Vinh is on loan to, will be broadcast live in Viet Nam.

Despite scoring several goals for the club during friendlies, Vinh has not had a chance to play in the main line-up in the Portuguese league, but he is still named on the official list.

But managers of T&T Ha Noi club, who owned Vinh in Viet Nam, have decided to buy the right to broadcast all of Leixoes‘s matches in Viet Nam.

People will be able to watch the matches on VTC and VCTC chanels every weekend.

Women spiked in Volleyball Champs

Viet Nam failed to reach their target of sixth place at the Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship that concluded in Ha Noi on Sunday.

The host team finished seventh after winning the last match 3-0 against Iran. Earlier Viet Nam had won six matches and lost six.

Thailand, who are the SEA Games reigning champions, won the championship by beating China 3-1 in the final. The bronze medal went to former winner Japan, who trounced South Korea 3-0 in the third-place match.
