Players from across Asia and Europe will compete at the 2009 Under-18 International Tennis Federation Becamex Cup in Binh Duong Province October 3-10.

Vietnam’s Nguyen Hoang Thien won the singles championship at last year’s event, also held in the southern province, when he was 13 years old.

He brushed aside the seventh seed and top seed from Thailand in the quarterfinals and the semis before beating the third seed, also from Thailand, 6-4, 7-5 in the finals to win the title.

The 120 players hail from 20 countries and territories including the US, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Canada, Germany, France, Taiwan, Thailand, India and Vietnam.

Becamex IDC, the event’s sponsor, is an industrial development and investment company.
